Developing resources safely and responsibly
Health, safety and environment (HSE) come before everything we do. We meet regulatory requirements, respect landowners and local communities, and develop resources responsibly.
Our health, safety and environment commitment
Goal of zero harm
Protecting the health and safety of employees, contractors and the public is the first goal of every operation.
Prevention
Identify and control risks before work begins, reducing incidents and environmental impact at the source.
Compliance
Comply with provincial and federal safety, environmental and energy regulations.
Continuous improvement
Improve HSE performance through inspections, reporting and lessons learned.
- 01
Work permits & risk assessment
Permits for high-risk work and a job safety analysis (JSA) before work starts.
- 02
Contractor management
Pre-qualification and safety orientation for drilling, completion and transport contractors.
- 03
Training & PPE
Role-specific training for field personnel and required personal protective equipment.
- 04
Emergency response
An emergency response plan and a 24-hour emergency line.
- 05
Incident reporting
Prompt reporting and investigation of incidents, with corrective actions tracked to completion.
Reducing our environmental footprint

- 01
Produced-water disposal
Produced water is safely disposed of through licensed disposal wells.
- 02
Solution gas use
Associated solution gas fuels on-site generators, reducing venting.
- 03
Smaller surface footprint
One multilateral well can replace several vertical wells, reducing well sites and surface disturbance.
- 04
Reclamation
We meet our site reclamation and well abandonment obligations.
- 05
Communities & land
We respect landowners and local communities and keep communication open.
Operating within the regulatory framework
Our operations are regulated by the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources.
Licences & approvals
Wells, facilities and disposal operations are licensed as required.
Data reporting
Production and operating data are reported through provincial systems.
